About the Author: Rachel Gross

Rachel Gross is a nationally-recognized author, women’s voice advocate and proponent of self-improvement. Her work can be found in several niche-interest lifestyle publications, blogs and more. A life enthusiast and natural creative, Rachel is driven by the strength within each of us. She believes in the power of exploration, travel which excites, and a good cup of coffee.

Why did Rachel choose our Remote Fraser Island experience for one of the Top Australian Eco-Tours?

'There are just some experiences that are once in a lifetime — getting to swim with humpback whales is one of them. The experts at Tasman Venture will take you on a full-day Remote Fraser Island Experience where you’ll soar along the coast spotting dolphins, swim with whale, and head in shore to explore the beaches and Wathumba Creek where you can snorkel with turtles.'

Bonus inclusions during the Hervey Bay Whale season...

From mid July to the end of October each year the humpback whale visit the calm waters of the Fraser Coast. They stay here and feed their young before starting their long journey home. During this time our Remote Fraser Island experience includes the remote west coast of Fraser Island as well as Whale Watching all in one day on our unique Remote Fraser Island and Whale experience. As an added bonus we offer guests, only on this tour, the opportunity for a whale immersion if conditions permit.

International Tourist Guides Day 2018

A HUGE thank you to all guides near and far...

Where would we be without them?

How would we learn about new locations without them?

Could we have the same experiences without them?

Let's get together and say thanks, for making our experiences one to truly treasure

... on the International Tourist Guides Day 2018

Today marks the annual International Tourist Guides Day, an initiative of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA).

Tour Guides offer help to the local communities, foreign guests, disabled persons, children, industry partners and the general public as part of their daily job. They are passionate, relatable and very hardworking.

To show their appreciation, the team at Get Your Guide have created a video to to say thanks for everything our tour guides go on this International Tourist Guides Day 2018.

You will be able to see our experience guide Carolena on this short video sharing her own experiences and love for what she does.

Especially our dedicated crew

We would love to thank each of our Tasman Venture Hervey Bay crew. They work tirelessly to ensure our guests have the most magical time whilst staying here on the Fraser Coast. Whether that is exploring the remote west coast of Fraser Island, encountering humpback whales or combing both tours with our unique Remote Fraser Island and Whale experience. We thank you for your dedication and look forward to hearing about each trip as you return into the harbour. Watching your faces light up from the days encounters, show just how much you love what you do.

Thank you

International Talk Like a Pirate Day on board Tasman Venture Hervey Bay

September 19, 2017

Home » Adventure Diary » Humpback whales have well and truly arrived on the Fraser Coast!

AHOY there me hearties! It's Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Lets hear your best attempt...

... to talk like a pirate this Tuesday, 19th September 2017 for the International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Join us onboard our Fraser Island and Whale watching experience  or our half day whale watching encounters for a day filled with fun and laughter! Our crew will help transform you to not only help you talk like a pirate, they will make you look like one too.

How to Celebrate?

  • Dress up like a swashbuckling pirate. Bonus points if you are able to carry a parrot or a monkey on your shoulder.
  • Talk like a pirate the whole day long. Add in a few grunts and growls and slur your words and call your friends “matey”
  • Share your favourite piratey jokes
  • Gather with friends on board Tasman Venture to celebrate the day in your piratey best!

You can also get on board to Talk Like a Pirate throughout September in an effort to help fundraise for Childhood Cancer Support who provide a home away from home for families. Childhood Cancer Support is a not-for-profit family focused charitable organisation providing free accommodation and support to regional families who have children living with cancer and are required to travel to Brisbane for ongoing treatment. They aim to take care of everything from accommodation, transport, emotional support, and at times, financial support.

Talk Like A Pirate Day is comin’, are you ready to pirate it up? We know that we’re going to!
