No cancellation fee applies if the booking is cancelled more than 48 hours prior to departure time.

However, cancellation less than 48 hours of travel – 50% cancellation fee applies, and cancellation within 24 hours of travel (or no show) – 100% cancellation fee applies.

When is Whale Watching Season?

The Humpback Whales are observed in Hervey Bay during their southern migration which is usually during early July – late October. The dates can vary year to year as the whales are wild animals and their migration changes slightly each year.

Ten outta ten experience! For kids, the remote island adventure is action packed with water activities, beautiful scenery and adventure the whole way through. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were delicious and kept our bellies full all day. The locations are undoubtedly stunning, however, the crew on board went above and beyond to ensure every passenger had the best possible experience every single moment of the day.

5 STAR in every aspect of the "Remote K'gari & Whales" full day adventure from the crew, food, boat, equipment, adventure. From the start, the crew were fun and caring, they made this experience incredible for all on board. Food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The skipper made sure we had time with the whales. The dune climb, kayaking and tube riding were all wonderful at stunning remote pockets of K'gari and we were educated along the way.

K'gari remote experience was one of the best tours I have ever done. The staff are funny, super friendly and they also know a lot about the island and its nature. I've never been on a tour before with so many different activities. Snorkelling, kayaking, tubing and enjoying beautiful walks provides an incredibly enriching experience from crazy action to serene stillness. Definitely highly recommended!

Remote is the word! We didn't see another tour group and it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves! It was amazing to see the contrast of the crystal blue water to the mangrove fresh water river.

We had a fantastic experience with Tasman Venture. From the friendly driver who picked us up at the hotel to the crew on the boat, everyone made our experience enjoyable. The crew ensured we had a great time and were very organised. They shared interesting facts about the animals and places we encountered, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to swim next to the humpback whales!
